The four day signis India National Assembly ,with the theme celebrating diversities was inaugurated by Archbishop Most Rev William D Souza on Wednesday 28 January at Sevakendra campus Patna.
The assembly began with the solemn Eucharistic celebration presided over by the Archbishop of Patna.After the traditional ceremonial welcome extended to the delegates, the assembly formally inaugurated by lighting lamp . During the key note address Bishop William elaborated the meaning of celebrating diversities with the light of the word of God and catholic teachings.He said we need to base on diversities on trinity.
The first session of the assembly was on the theme" the role of Christian educational institutions towards building a just humane and inclusive India"by Dr Shankar Dutt the former chair person Bihar Sangeth Natak Academy moderated by Fr George Plathottam Secretary CBCI OSC.
The second session was on Celebrating Diversities: a Catholic perspective by Dr Muniba Sami professor of English Patna University moderated by Fr.Innocent.
After the tea break the open house discussion was held on challenges possibilities and opportunities of radio,TV, Cinema and Web communicators in addressing issues of social justice and inclusion.
Fr Ashok Vaghela, National Vice Pre sident,Fr Victor Vijay Lobo, National Secretary and other 70 delegates are participating in the Assembly.
