Hong Kong, July 14, 2009 (Cath News Asia): Cath News Asia is a daily news service that brings you the latest news about the Church in Asia. The service is a digest of Catholic news in Asia, offering insight into a vibrant Church.

Cath News Asia covers stories about the Church and of interest to the Church including lay activities, social work, protests, statements, profiles, commentaries, interviews and features, told through text, photos and multimedia.

Cath News Asia is a service of UCA News that draws on its network of over 50 full-time staff and more than 200 reporters in offices across Asia who are well placed to offer good analysis and insight into Church developments.

Cath News Asia will also publish a variety of stories from Church and other websites around the world, including a section entitled, "Church in the World," special Features and Multimedia presentations including videos, podcasts, and photo galleries.

It will highlight Church websites that show how the web is developing as means of evangelization and community building.
